The exhibition Typographic Principle, by the artist Claudio Rocha - aka Active Principle -, presents the print series Cartilha Tipográfica (Typographic Guidebook), a sequence of typographic monotypes in which the letters of the alphabet - printed with wooden types on typographic drawers of a sculptural character - are combined with images whose name begins with the highlighted letter.

Working as a kind of visual didactic material, these monotypes teach us to broaden our perception and our understanding in relation to the materiality of a text. In this pedagogy of the gaze, we discover that the text, in addition to activating the images we have of things, is also something that has its own image.

The flexographic plates used in the Cartilha Tipográfica (Typographic Guidebook) were produced by Cliart.
